Booking and the app

How do I book a court?

Book online at book.grovepb.com (opens in a new tab) or in the Grove Pickleball app. New here? Create an account (opens in a new tab) first.

A 2-hour court reservation costs a $25 drop-in, and court reservations are included with the Grove Pass.

How far ahead can I book?

Grove Pass holders can book 7 days out. Punch pass and Open Play Pass holders can book 3 days out. That applies to all programming except tournaments.

Is there a Grove app?

Yes. The Grove Pickleball app handles court bookings, programs, events and member benefits. Get it on the App Store (opens in a new tab) or Google Play (opens in a new tab).

How does open play work?

Register for a session, then arrive or leave whenever you like. Paddles go on the rack, courts turn over about every 15 minutes, and levels are loosely grouped.

  • Every morning, 8 to 11am
  • Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights, times vary

Passes

Is there a contract?

No initiation fee and no contract. Just your paddle and shoes. Monthly passes run month to month. To cancel, email info@grovepb.com at least 48 hours before your renewal date.

What if I'm not ready to join?

Drop in for $25, or buy a punch pass: five drop-ins for $100 that never expire. When you want more, the Grove Pass is $195 a month. Every option is on the passes page (opens in a new tab).

Who counts as a junior or student?

Anyone 18 or under, or anyone with a current student ID from SBCC, UCSB or another higher-ed school in the county. The Junior / Student Pass is $75 a month and is sold at the front desk.

Who qualifies for the Hero Pass?

Actively employed first responders, medical staff, educators and military. It's $150 a month with the same benefits as the Grove Pass. Buy it at the front desk with your professional ID.

Can I get the Open Play Pass?

It's sold out right now. The $65 monthly pass covers open play only, so join the waitlist if that's all you need.

Can I still become a Founder?

No. Founder passes sold out in May 2026. Existing Founders: Tier 1 moved from $179 to $160 and Tier 2 from $197 to $175.

Programs, lessons and events

I've never played. Where do I start?

Pickleball 101. It runs every Sunday at 10am, followed by two hours of guided beginner open play so you can put it into practice right away. Paddle provided. No experience needed. Save a spot (opens in a new tab) and arrive ten minutes early.

What comes after Pickleball 101?

Most people go straight into open play or a beginner clinic the same week. Nothing about the intro commits you to a pass.

Which programs fit my level?
  • All levels: open play and club play
  • Novice to advanced: leagues, clinics and live ball
  • Brand new: Pickleball 101
  • Ages 8 to 14: Junior Academy

See every program on the home page, or go straight to the Junior Academy (opens in a new tab).

How do lessons work?

Pick a coach and an hour on the lessons page (opens in a new tab). Your first lesson includes a rating check, so the drills match your game. A private hour is $100, and group lessons and five-packs are on the passes page.

Do you have junior programs?

Yes, for ages 8 to 14: 90 minutes after school, with footwork first, then drills, then match play.

Can I host my own event?

Yes. Take one court or the whole building, with paddles, balls and a host to run the games, for groups of up to 80. Request a date or email events@grovepb.com. More on the private events page.

Do you run tournaments?

Yes. The next one is December 5 and 6: two days of bracket play, with divisions and details to come. Grove Pass holders get 50% off tournaments.

The club

Do I need my own paddle?

No. Demo paddles are available, and a rental is included on your first visit.

What should I bring?
  • Shoes with a flat sole. Running shoes are fine to start.
  • A water bottle. We have filtered water.
  • A credit card on file if you plan to book courts.
Is the club indoors?

All seven courts are indoors, in a climate-controlled building with pro-grade lighting and custom soundproofing. The Grove is Santa Barbara County's only indoor pickleball facility.

Is there food or drink?

There's filtered water at the club. Private events can add catering from our local partners, from light bites to full meals.
